Established in 1987 as the fifth regional office for Cozen O’Connor it is located in the heart of San Diego’s business center in downtown San Diego. The office is one block West of the Federal and State Court Complexes. It is minutes from the San Diego International Airport. Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres, is a short walk from the office.
The San Diego office continues to grow with its attorneys licensed and handling litigation throughout Northern and Southern California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. The Insurance Coverage Group handles a wide array of first and third party insurance coverage issues and litigation.
The Subrogation group has expertise with multi-million dollar property losses involving oil and gas, mining, product failures, catastrophic floods in Northern and Southern California, earth collapse, pharmaceutical contamination, commercial losses, wind farm losses, agricultural losses/contamination, fires involving residential and commercial losses, and wildfires, such as the $2 billion 2007 San Diego Wild Fire Loss.
The Labor and Employment group handles litigation involving wrongful termination cases, employee unfair competition/trade secrets disputes, wage and hour class actions, discrimination and sexual harassment lawsuits, and actions predicated on breach of contracts. The team also has experience with labor and employment counseling and compliance with state and federal regulations, including Fair Labor Standards Act and similar state and local wage and hour laws such as the California Labor Code and California Business and Professions Code section 17200.
