Joseph Okon

Associate

Joe concentrates his practice on a broad range of insurance coverage issues. He is experienced in litigating cases from pleadings through summary judgment and trial. He has drafted numerous successful summary judgment and Rule 12(b) motions, as well as a successful appellate briefing and an opposition brief resulting in dismissal in the client's favor.

Prior to joining the firm, Joe was an associate with a boutique litigation defense firm based in Denver, Colorado. There, he litigated civil cases on behalf of Fortune 500 companies and individuals in matters involving premises liability, negligence claims, wrongful death, administrative housing discrimination, first- and third-party insurance claims, and insurance bad faith.

Before moving to Colorado, Joe gained significant trial experience working at the Illinois Attorney General's Office on civil rights litigation brought against employees and entities of the State of Illinois. Joe has tried federal civil rights cases to verdict in both the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois.

Joe earned two bachelor's degrees from Southern Illinois University and was a member and team captain of its Division 1 collegiate football program. He earned his law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law. In his free time, Joe enjoys skiing, camping, mountain biking, and hiking with his dog, Rosie.
