Alex has nearly two decades of experience structuring and negotiating acquisitions, sales, and financing transactions on behalf of institutional lenders and borrowers, including owners, investors, developers, private equity funds, and banks.
Clients rely on Alex to close their most complex and strategically significant finance and property transfer deals. He leads loan originations, modifications, workouts, and foreclosures for lenders; handles purchases and sales, due diligence, and loan negotiation and documentation for borrowers; and has experience on both sides of the table structuring loans at every stage in the funding lifecycle, from acquisition and pre-development loans to construction, bridge, and permanent financings.
Alex serves as co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Real Estate Finance group and helps direct planning and expansion of the finance practice nationwide. In that role, he devotes himself to fostering a client-first culture that rewards responsiveness, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor in 2019, Alex practiced at a well-known regional real estate boutique where he represented banks, private equity funds, real estate investors, and developers in financing transactions, becoming its youngest-ever equity partner and management committee member.
Outside of the firm, Alex supports local and regional real estate groups and charities, as well as various client-driven philanthropic endeavors. He is also a dedicated volunteer coach for youth lacrosse and ice hockey and has coached hundreds of kids from elementary school through high school.
Alex graduated from Loyola University (Maryland) in 2001 and earned his J.D. from Catholic University in 2006.
