Thomas Wilkinson, Daniel Harrington, and Deborah Winokur, representing the Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and Allegheny County Bar Associations, were quoted in a Law360 Article, “Pa. Bar Groups Ask 3rd Circ. To Support Atty Anti-Bias Rule.” The three bar associations have asked the Third Circuit to overturn a ruling by a federal judge that found a new anti-discrimination rule for lawyers violated the First Amendment. "Lawyers discuss controversial legal issues on a daily basis, including in jurisdictions with antidiscrimination rules, and yet there are no reported cases of discipline in any jurisdiction arising from such discussions," the associations wrote. "Greenberg's contention that he might one day be the first is insufficient to satisfy his burden" of proving that Rule 8.4(g) will affect his free speech rights.
