On January 29, UPS, a leading multinational package delivery and supply chain management company, announced plans to construct a “super hub” in Lower Swatara Township and open three new facilities in Carlisle, Northampton County, and the Philadelphia area. The project, which is part of a $1.4 billion investment by UPS into Pennsylvania, will create an estimated 1,721 new jobs in the commonwealth.

On March 16, just a few weeks after this groundbreaking win, resulting from a persistent, multi-prong effort by the Public Strategies Pennsylvania team led by Jim Davis and Dave Bonsick, UPS announced a customized, testing-specific supply chain solution for Pennsylvania, built upon the request from the White House. This customized solution, resulting from the company’s heavy investment in technology over the past few years, is ready to provide full end-to-end support to any coronavirus testing facility or “pop-up” testing center in Pennsylvania and can ensure the fastest delivery of any test samples to any approved laboratory in the U.S.

“We stand ready at a moment’s notice to deliver for you and your citizens,” UPS Global Public Affairs President Laura Lane said in a letter to Governor Wolf.
