Nandini Sane was quoted in Life Hacker discussing what employees should do if they do not feel safe returning to work when stay at home orders are lifted. Generally speaking, workers can access certain protections through a hodgepodge of labor laws and protections that vary depending on where they live, what occupation they are in, if they are in a protected class, as well as what company they work for. “Depending on the circumstances, employees who believe they are working in unsafe conditions may have legal protections available to them under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as other local, state, and federal laws,” says Nandini.
