Ethan Chernin, Elena Hillman, Michele Ballard Miller, and Bethany Vasquez will present "Boilerplate Employment Documents in California: Time to Review and Update to Minimize Risk." The employment relationship generates much documentation. Oftentimes, the routine provisions in these documents are simply recycled from one document to the next and may in fact create, rather than eliminate, legal risks. In this program, we will explore common provisions in employment documents and the danger lurking in outdated boilerplate provisions including waivers, arbitration clauses, confidentiality, non-disparagement, choice-of-law, forum selection, integration, severability, and survival clauses. We will look at best practices to update your employment documents for 2024.
