Cozen O'Connor attorneys will be speaking at the annual NACUA conference. Maureen Holland will present "Turbulent Times in Title IX: Managing Student, Faculty, Staff, Board & Community Expectations." Two panelists will join Maureen and they will discuss how to cultivate educational conversations on campus before the crisis and creative solutions for distinguishing the "must dos" from the "can dos." They will discuss tips for building strong relationships to counter negative perceptions, technology tools to drive the narrative down a positive path, more new Title IX regulations, and strategies for remaining resilient.
Gina Maisto Smith will present "New Revisions to the “Final” Title IX Regulations: Anticipating the NPRM Pendulum Swing." This session will discuss the highly anticipated release of the NPRM in the spring of 2022 from the unique perspectives of in-house counsel, litigation counsel, Title IX counsel, and Title IX coordinator. The session will address key issues related to scope and jurisdiction, employee reporting frameworks, intake and outreach, and evidentiary considerations in investigations and hearings.
