Tech Toys and Products Task Force

Tech toys and products are ubiquitous: in stores, online, in the news, and of course on social media. Signs for “vape” shops are everywhere now; people ride around on hover boards in the same fashion as bikes and skateboards, and drones are flown like kites at parks and beaches. But these tech toys are not always as much fun they appear to be and often lead to repetitive fire scenarios and failures.

Cozen O’Connor has created the Tech Toys and Products Task Force to focus our experience and resources regarding fire losses arising out of the wide variety of tech toys and products and their associated batteries and chargers. The members of this task force keep apprised of news and developments on tech-related losses, are trained to identify the unique issues associated with such losses, and handle them using a coordinated and systematic approach. We work with experts across the country and understand the need for a cohesive approach to handling these types of losses to better serve our clients and maximize recoveries.

Potential targets in these cases can include the manufacturers of the toys and products themselves, the manufacturers of the chargers and/or batteries for these devices, and the sellers and/or distributors in the chain of distribution. With the help of experienced experts in the field, Cozen O’Connor attorneys investigate the products at issue — including all associated batteries and chargers — with an eye toward navigating the most meaningful recovery path for our clients.
