In response to the increasing volume and magnitude of property losses caused by unsafe materials which are inadequate or inappropriate for their selected use in industrial, commercial and consumer products, Cozen O'Connor's National and International Subrogation Department has established a Material Failure Task Force. The goal of the task force is to examine the factors and forces that bring about product failures as a result of deficiencies in material design and manufacture. The task force members compile, analyze and research information regarding material failures including engineered plastics, woods, metals, polymers, bio-polymers and other composites.

By having a select group of experienced subrogation attorneys focus on repetitive issues relating to the design, selection, manufacture, sale, and distribution of materials, our task force is able to streamline claim handling and litigation processes and synthesize research to efficiently and effectively maximize recoveries. In addition, we systematically track and monitor local, state and federal regulations and administrative guidelines for the design, manufacture, use and storage of materials, as well as legal proceedings pertaining to violations of these requirements.
