Recognizing the growing need for attorneys experienced in handling losses in the rapidly expanding energy marketplace, Cozen O’Connor formed an Energy Subrogation Task Force several years ago to consolidate the broad experience among Cozen O’Connor’s 26 offices throughout the United States, Canada and England. With an office in Houston and proximity to other major energy centers throughout North America, Cozen O’Connor’s footprint provides an incomparable platform to cost effectively handle subrogation claims arising out of petrochemical plant failures, turbine malfunctions, and other energy related losses insured by our clients.
The collective knowledge and experience of our energy subrogation attorneys and the resources in handling these losses are readily applied to spearhead the analysis, evaluation, pursuit and prosecution of these claims. Our Energy Subrogation Task Force members have extensive experience in handling losses involving refinery processes, drilling operations, fires and explosions at petrochemical plants, pipeline failures, renewable energy losses and machinery and equipment breakdown. We maintain a database of the most knowledgeable industry experts to assist in our forensic evaluation of subrogation issues. In addition to the expert database, we regularly track governmental and regulatory authorities for updates regarding industry standards of care, and apply our state of the art subrogation methodology to identify all viable subrogation theories to be pursued for energy and petrochemical recoveries.
