Steven concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, estate administration and probate law, taxation, and general business representation of individuals and closely held companies. He handles a wide variety of planning situations for individuals of modest to substantial wealth, including the use of sophisticated estate planning techniques, business succession planning and preparation of shareholders' agreements, life insurance planning, and negotiation of pre-marital agreements. His estate administration practice includes representing clients in probate disputes, post-mortem tax planning, and handling death tax return audits with federal and state tax authorities.
In addition, Steven is a Certified Public Accountant, having practiced accounting for several years prior to entering the law. He continues to be a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Steven is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia Bar Associations, and formerly served on the Executive Committee to the Probate Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the board of directors of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. He also currently serves on the board of trustees of the Abington Art Center, a suburban charitable art organization located in Abington, Pa.
Steven earned his undergraduate degree in economics, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania. He earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was an editor of the law review, a member of the Order of the Coif and the recipient of the Bernard Chertkoff Prize for Taxation.
