Joseph focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on fraud investigations, asset recovery, and insurance-related disputes. He represents clients in matters involving fraudulent schemes, deceptive business practices, and high-stakes financial misconduct.
Joseph regularly advises clients on identifying, investigating, and recovering losses arising from sophisticated fraud, including illegal kickback arrangements, patient brokering, unnecessary medical procedures, sham ownership structures, unlicensed repair work, and fraudulent insurance claims. He works closely with data analytics professionals to detect irregular patterns and indicators of unlawful activity and designs targeted civil litigation strategies to recover misappropriated assets and financial losses.
In addition to his fraud and recovery work, Joseph has experience handling labor and employment disputes, qui tam and False Claims Act defense matters, and complex business litigation. His practice frequently intersects with the healthcare and life sciences industries.
Before joining the firm, Joseph was senior counsel in the insurance fraud and recovery practice at an Am Law 50 firm. Earlier in his career, he served as a judicial fellow to the Honorable Cecilia M. Altonaga of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Joseph earned his J.D from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he was a production editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy and interned as a law clerk with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. He earned his B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and gained valuable experience as a tax accountant prior to attending law school. He is also a fluent Spanish speaker.
