Brian, a patent agent since 2020, assists clients with patent prosecution, litigation support, patentability assessments, and infringement analyses across a broad spectrum of technologies. His practice emphasizes inventions in physics, photonics, and optics, including imaging systems, image sensors, image processing, nanophotonics, optical networking, signal processing, and video encoding.

 

Before joining Cozen O'Connor, Brian worked as an optical engineer and research scientist at companies developing photonics tools, digital imaging products, and physics simulation software. Brian has an undergraduate degree in physics, with honors, from Swarthmore College. As an Optical Science and Engineering Program Fellow, he earned graduate degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado. He has co-authored publications in fields including optical metamaterials, photonic crystals, on-chip nanophotonics, and accelerator physics.
