Erica C. Pulford

Erica focuses her practice on commercial litigation.

Erica has experience as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jerrold N. Poslusny, Jr., U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. She drafted opinions and memoranda to prepare the judge for motions, hearings, and adversary proceedings. She reviewed filings, conducted legal research, and recreated the judge’s motions calendar. Her casework included complex Chapter 11 matters, including first-day motions, sale and bidding procedures motions, avoidance actions, and analyzing creditors’ rights; Chapter 13 automatic stay relief and fraudulent transfers; and Chapter 7 discharges. Erica was also a judicial intern for the Honorable Vincent F. Papalia, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, where she observed weekly Chapter 7, 11, and 13 hearings, status conferences, and settlement negotiations.

Prior to working in the legal industry, Erica was a global advertising sales coordinator and associate at The Wall Street Journal & Dow Jones Co.

Erica earned her bachelor’s degree from Colby College and her law degree from Rutgers Law School.

Erica Pulford contributed an article to the Rutgers University Law Review discussing whether or not states can close their borders to, or impose mandatory quarantine on travelers from states or cities that have a high community spread of COVID-19.
