Ashley focuses her practice on  railroad defense, with a particular emphasis on the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) and occupational disease litigation. She has been a member of several trial teams obtaining defense verdicts in FELA litigation. In addition, she is well versed in matters relating to product liability and general litigation, including medical malpractice and nursing home defense, as well as insurance defense. She litigates cases in multiple state and federal courts across the country.

Her previous experience includes practicing at a firm specializing in defense of Class I and short line railroads including Norfolk Southern, CSX, and Conrail, as well as other companies, suppliers, and manufactures, in a variety of complex toxic and mass tort claims involving occupational injuries under FELA. 

Ashley was selected as a 2020 Fellow by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) where she joined a select group of young attorneys carefully chosen to participate in a landmark, year-long program created by the LCLD to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession. 

Ashley graduated from Duquesne University School of Law in 2011, where she received the Outstanding Appellate Brief and Oral Argument Award and served as Secretary in the Black Law Students Association. While in law school, she studied abroad in Vatican City during the summer of 2009. Ashley received a B.A. in History and Psychology in May 2008 from Case Western Reserve University. At Case Western, she was actively involved in athletics, serving as the Varsity Women’s Basketball Team Captain from 2006-2008 and Case Association for Student Athletes Spirit and Blue Chair. She was also honored by the university with the Dorothy L. Hoza Award in 2007 for her strong contribution to the Women’s Intercollegiate Sports Program and the Nancy Gray Rookie of the Year Award in 2005.

Ashley is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio.
