State AG Pulse | Swinging Through the Rust Belt, the Sun Belt and the South

In Episode 3 of State AG Pulse, Meghan Stoppel and Siran Faulders dive into the AG and other Pennsylvania races with Jim Davis and Joe Hill of Cozen Public Strategies and consider how voter demographics in PA and other swing states will play into the outcomes in November.

Siran is known for her ability to achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients in business-critical negotiations with state attorneys general and other regulatory authorities. Clients who have become the target of a state AG investigation turn to Siran for clear-headed analysis of the issues, insightful strategy, and successful resolution in highly complex and challenging situations. An experienced negotiator, she seeks to reach agreement between the parties in the most efficient manner possible while simultaneously minimizing business interruption, cost, and reputational damage. Siran will use every tool in her extensive kit, including litigation where necessary, to achieve the desired results for her clients.

Siran is widely respected by regulators for her ability to quickly identify the critical issues in negotiation and develop solutions that allow parties to reach settlement even in the most complex multistate investigations. She has experience across a wide range of industries, including cannabis, pharmaceuticals, consumer financial credit, debt buying and servicing, technology, retail and manufacturing, and nonprofits and charitable organizations, among others.

Given the interest of attorneys general in consumer protection and privacy matters, Siran has developed a command for state regulatory regimes surrounding these issues across the country. She has advised on investigations into several of the largest data breaches in recent U.S. history involving vast amounts of data while managing detailed and sensitive negotiations to reach settlement.

In her previous role as a partner in a leading national law firm, Siran advised clients on a wide variety of state and federal regulatory matters with a particular emphasis on state consumer protection laws, including matters involving consumer financial services, data security, advertising, and marketing. Prior to entering private practice, Siran served as section chief and senior assistant attorney general in Virginia from 1994 - 2003. She continues to utilize the relationships and experience gained in public service to inform her representation of clients and advance their policy and legal positions.

Siran also maintains an active pro bono practice. She counts securing a writ of innocence for a wrongly convicted individual among her most meaningful accomplishments. She has also been an active advocate for children with disabilities and has represented parents and their children in special education matters in state and federal court.

Siran earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law and her B.A. from Bates College. She has two grown children and lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with her husband and their golden retriever.
