Brian Browne

Associate

Brian focuses his practice on commercial litigation. He represents businesses in various industries and has successfully litigated and resolved claims involving breach of contract, business torts, statutory violations, personal injury, and property damage.

Brian represents BIPA class action defendants in large BIPA class actions involving restaurant point of sale systems and voice recognition systems. He has experience in the BIPA context drafting answers and affirmative defenses, written discovery, and discovery motion practice. He is currently litigating one of the few, individually filed BIPA matters that seeks per scan damages.

Brian has also represented businesses, including a Fortune 500 company, with responding to data security breaches.

Brian maintains an active pro bono practice and has appeared in immigration court on behalf of his clients. He is an active member of the Hispanic Bar Association for the District of Columbia. He has coordinated six fundraisers (and counting) in Cozen O’Connor’s Washington, DC Office for Legal Aid DC, raising $21,000 in 2023. 

Brian received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in philosophy from George Washington University. While at Case Western Law, Brian was a member of the Case Western Law Review  and the Order of Barristers and received the 2017 Note of the Year Award from the Case Western Reserve Journal of Law, Technology & the Internet.  Brian also served as a legal intern for the Milton A. Kramer Law Clinic Center and a law clerk for the City of Cleveland "Department of Law, Civil Division."
