Mel is an associate in the firm’s Global Insurance Department. Before joining the firm, Mel managed a broad caseload of complex pre-suit and litigation matters, primarily involving liability defense, including transportation, premises liability and automobile liability claims, as well as contract disputes. She managed all phases of discovery, pleadings, and motion practice.
After finishing undergraduate studies at Mercer University, Mel earned her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law. During law school, she served as a graduate assistant for faculty and the communications department and held leadership roles in several student organizations. She also gained experience as a legal intern for production and podcasting companies and as an extern with Georgia State University's NCAA Compliance Office.
Outside of her practice, Mel enjoys spending time with her puppy Joey, candle making, reading, serving at her church, and volunteering with nonprofit organizations.
