Waterfront Management Advisory Board Holds Meeting

The city announced that the Waterfront Management Advisory Board convened on Thursday and officially kicked-off the planning stages for the next Comprehensive Waterfront Plan. The advisory board will be a key partner in advising the city on its 520 miles of waterfront and will provide guidance to the Department of City Planning on the comprehensive plan. Published every ten years, the Comprehensive Water Plan outlines the strategic vision of the city's waterfront for the decade ahead . Amy Peterson Appointed as Director of the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development

Also on Thursday, Mayor de Blasio announced the appointment of Amy Peterson as the Director of the Mayor's Office of Economic Development. The office oversees city programs including Build It Back and other initiatives directed toward equipping and connecting New Yorkers to quality employment. Ms. Peterson previously managed workforce programs at the Mayor's Office of Housing Recovery and the New York City Human Resources Administration.

Next Week's City Council Hearings

Next week, the New York City Council is currently scheduled to hold several hearings including a stated meeting on Wednesday to introduce and approve legislation, and on Thursday, the Committee on Cultural Affairs, Libraries and International Intergroup Relations will hold an oversight hearing to analyze the Culture Pass program and other partnerships between New York City's cultural organizations and public libraries.
