Coastal Commission Approval

Manufactured Housing Alert

February 15, 2018

We are pleased to announce that Cozen O’Connor has obtained approval from the California Coastal Commission on behalf of Dan Guggenheim’s Rancho Mobile Estates in Goleta for the subdivision/conversion of the 150 space park.

The Coastal Commission’s approval was required before the park could receive a Final Subdivision Map from the City of Goleta. The commission’s approval grants the owner a vested right to sell individual lots to the park’s residents at any time in the future.

With California’s widespread housing shortage, coastal land is financially unattainable for most. However, the Coastal Commission’s approval of this manufactured housing community subdivision is a positive step toward creating affordable coastal housing.

The action also provides financial benefits to the park owner.
