BOSTON, October 26, 2023 — Michael Filbin, an associate in the firm’s Construction Law Group, has been selected as a fellow of the 2023-2024 class of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) Leadership Academy. Continuing its commitment to cultivating leaders who work diligently toward improving the profession and our society, the MBA has developed a Leadership Academy to help prepare young attorneys to assume leadership roles at the bar, in their firms or organizations, and in government. As an academy fellow, Michael will join a select group of attorneys who will be provided unique opportunities to network, collaborate and build relationships with bar leaders; develop and enhance leadership skills; and get an insider's look at the role the MBA plays within the legal system.

Michael represents owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors in various construction-related matters, including contract disputes, construction defect claims, and mechanic's lien disputes. Michael has litigation experience taking and defending depositions, managing pre-trial discovery, leading factual investigations, conducting witness interviews, and participating in hearings and settlement negotiations. He has prepared dispositive and discovery motions, pleadings, discovery responses and requests, expert disclosures, mediation memoranda, settlement agreements, and confidentiality agreements. In addition, he has second-chair jury trial experience and has resolved countless matters through alternative dispute resolution.
