WASHINGTON, D.C., April 19, 2023 — Josephine Bahn, an associate in Cozen O’Connor’s Construction Law Group, will receive the Legal Aid DC Klepper Prize for Volunteer Excellence at the 2023 Servant of Justice Awards Dinner. This award recognizes attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional volunteer commitment to Legal Aid DC early in their careers.
Josephine (Jo) began working with Legal Aid DC’s Pro Bono Program in 2018. Over the past five years, she has represented several clients in pro bono matters ranging from eviction defense to child custody to public benefits. Jo partners with various legal services providers and represents pro bono clients in D.C. and Maryland.
Jo focuses her practice on commercial litigation and construction law. She counsels real estate developers, project owners, contractors, and design professionals in all phases of the construction process. Jo’s practice includes public and private projects as well as bid protests throughout the United States. She also regularly handles claims related to mechanics’ liens on projects. Jo has wide-ranging experience litigating construction defect claims including stucco and other water intrusion claims. She has litigated in a wide range of forums, including state, federal, and administrative forums as well as various boards of contract appeals.
