Michael Osborne was quoted in a Toronto Star article discussing the joint letter Lina Khan, chair of the Federal Trade Commission, and Jonathan Kanter, assistant attorney general for the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, sent to Canada’s Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne about the new competition rules for Canadian businesses.
According to Michael, the letter represents a broader trend of competition authorities contributing to debates about the law in other jurisdictions. “The letter is useful, but it’s not groundbreaking,” said Michael, adding that he hopes Canada’s government does not rush the consultation process to make major changes to competition laws.
