New York Seeks To Make Office Building Conversions Easier

Wednesday, December 14, 2022

Ken Fisher is quoted in a CoStar News article discussing the plans proposed by Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams to make it easier to convert outdated office buildings in New York City. These proposals aim to create more pedestrian-oriented districts, increase housing supply, decrease commute times, and address safety concerns in an effort to revitalize the city’s economy.

In this article, Ken points out that Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams see development as a necessity as New York City continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“That doesn’t mean giveaways, but it does mean that they understand that capital goes where it wants and stays where it’s well treated, and there are plenty of cities that would like to take away our title as the financial center of the world,” Ken explained.
