Mariah Passarelli Appointed to the Western District of Pennsylvania’s Local Rules Advisory Committee

PITTSBURGH, August 1, 2022 — Mariah Passarelli, a member of Cozen O'Connor’s Labor & Employment Department, has been appointed to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania’s Local Rules Advisory Committee. This committee will review local civil, admiralty, and criminal rules of courts. The advisory committee will work with the court’s Local Rules Committee comprising Judges William Stickman (chair of the court’s Local Rules Committee), Stephanie Haines, Robert Colville, Scott Hardy, Christy Wiegand, Lisa Pupo Lenihan, and Thomas Agresti. Mariah joins a small select group to serve on this committee.

Mariah focuses her practice on a variety of labor and employment and higher education law matters, from employment contracts to complex litigation. Mariah handles matters in administrative proceedings, state, and federal courts. She has represented employers in claims under Title IX, Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 1981, PHRA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, FCRA, and OSHA, and she has defended universities, hospitals, and oil and gas companies in state-wide class and collective actions. Mariah also counsels companies and education institutions on litigation avoidance, anti-discrimination, and anti-bullying and she reviews and drafts employee handbooks, student handbooks, and personnel policies.
