Mariah Passarelli, a member of Cozen O'Connor’s Labor & Employment Department, was voted to a three-year term on the Allegheny County Board of Governors with the Allegheny County Bar Association. The Allegheny County Bar Association is a professional organization with nearly 6,000 member lawyers, judges, magisterial district judges, and legal administrators in Pittsburgh.
Mariah focuses her practice on a variety of labor and employment law and higher education matters, from employment contracts to complex litigation. Mariah handles matters in administrative proceedings and state and federal courts. She has represented employers and institutions in claims under Title IX, Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 1981, PHRA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, FCRA, and OSHA, and she has defended universities, hospitals, and oil and gas companies in state-wide class and collective actions. Mariah also counsels companies and institutions on litigation avoidance, anti-discrimination, and anti-bullying and she reviews and drafts employee handbooks and personnel policies.
