David Barron spoke with AmpGoo about the potential consequences employees face if they attended the Capitol Hill riot. "To the extent that the Washington, D.C. mall demonstration would be constitutionally protected, no state actor or government employer could take negative action against an employee to do so," said David. "You can always be fired for criminal activity," he said. Regardless of whether someone works for the private or public sector, employees can always be fired for violating the law. "The real problem that will be there was [the activity] just a political phrase that could be protected by state law, or was it a crime?" He said.
