Pittsburgh, March 25, 2021 – Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that corporate attorney Benjamin W. Milleville will be the newest member of the Pittsburgh Corporate Practice. He brings a strong history of advising businesses and nonprofit organizations on corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, the negotiation of commercial agreements, governance, and real estate matters. Milleville joins the firm from Babst Calland, a Pittsburgh-based, regional law firm.
Milleville has served as an outsourced corporate counsel to a multinational public company in the chemical industry with operations in over 14 countries. He has counseled senior management, finance and accounting managers, and business personnel in the United States and abroad on a broad range of legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, acquisitions and corporate reorganizations, and complex commercial agreements. He played an integral role advising the same multinational public company during several major transactions, including an auction sale process, business unit divestitures, and the company’s initial public offering.
“Having someone with key insights in advising private equity-owned clients and working closely with the management of multinational companies are important skills for our clients,” said Larry P. Laubach, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Corporate Practice. “Ben is a trusted adviser for entrepreneurs and startup businesses regarding legal issues such as business structuring, preparation of founders/shareholders agreements, and protection of intellectual property, giving Cozen O’Connor added depth and experience to serve the needs of its growing early-stage corporate client base.”
“Ben is a welcome addition to the team given his unique background,” said Jeremiah G. Garvey, managing partner of Cozen O’Connor’s Pittsburgh office. “We are excited to have a trusted counselor with the depth of experience he brings that will undoubtedly allow us to continue to grow our corporate practice in Pittsburgh.”
“I have collaborated with Cozen O’Connor’s Corporate Practice in Pittsburgh for years on matters for shared clients. I am thrilled to bring my corporate and transactional advocacy to Cozen O’Connor clients,” Milleville said. “I welcome the opportunity to work with such an experienced and respected practice to help Cozen O’Connor clients navigate and thrive in a challenging marketplace.”
Milleville earned his B.A. in psychology from the State University of New York, Buffalo, and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served as notes editor and a member of the Pittsburgh Tax Review.
