Waiving Coronavirus Research Liability Driven by Lost HIV Work

Kerry McTigue spoke with Bloomberg Law about the level of urgency that the government is asking drugmakers to work towards a vaccine for coronavirus. “To rush this through within a year would be record-setting,” said Kerry. “At least seven different companies have been working on a vaccine already, so there’s already a motivation prior to this HHS determination that is largely driven by the increase in need for it,” he added. “But this will give certain companies less pause for concern.”
