Meridith Moldenhauer weighs in on a dispute between an owner of a high-rise apartment building and a developer of a hotel in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Washington, D.C., in Bisnow. According to the article the owner of the apartment building, filed an appeal with the D.C. Court of Appeals to contest the approval of a hotel development in close proximity to the apartment complex. The owner argues that the hotel could obstruct views, invade privacy, and create additional noise for tenants. Meridith, who is representing the hotel developer, noted that the parties attempted to settle the issue out of court, but were unsuccessful.
"It’s in the middle of downtown where everybody expects to live a city lifestyle," Meridith said. "It’s disheartening that another developer is continuing to oppose positive development in the city.”
