Richmond, Va. – January 3, 2018 – Cozen O’Connor has opened an office in Richmond, Virginia, where the firm’s State Attorneys General (AG) Practice will offer executive and legislative branch strategies and services for companies operating in Virginia. The Virginia team will be headed by Jerry W. Kilgore, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s State AG practice and former Virginia State Attorney General. Cozen O’Connor’s State AG group is one of the largest and oldest state AG practices in the nation, with a focus on AG-facing investigations, litigation, outreach, and policy.

“Our new Virginia state government and legislative team is unique in that we are combining our deep experience defending and advocating for clients in the state AG arena with our experience representing clients on issues of concern to state legislatures and in Virginia specifically,” said Kilgore.

Cozen O’Connor’s State AG group’s government and legislative services team in Richmond is expected to grow quickly in response to existing client demand. “This is a natural progression of expansion for our firm’s State AG Practice,” said Bernard Nash, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s State AG practice, which handles AG-related litigation and related legal matters for companies across the country.

In December 2017, Ashley K. Allen, attorney and former vice president at a Virginia-based public affairs firm with experience in the Virginia State AG’s office and trade associations, joined Cozen O’Connor to help develop a state government and legislative practice specifically for companies and trade associations doing business in Virginia.
