Quick Harvey Claims Offer Little Payoff for Policyholders [Law360]

Stephen Pate, a member of Cozen O'Connor's Global Insurance Department, was quoted in an article for Law360 that discussed how property owners should handle damages caused by Hurricane Harvey. In the article, Stephen discusses the presuit notice period that gives an insurer the chance to re-inspect a policyholder's property. After re-inspecting the insurer could potentially pay additional damages to put the claim to bed and avoid a suit. Stephen is quoted explaining, "That is good for the consumer, and that means less litigation for everybody."
