The Wall Street Journal recently published an article titled “FBI: Delete Passwords of Ex-Employees” where the author discusses a disgruntled ex-employee’s recent network attack on his previous employer at a Long Island, N.Y., electric supply company. At the Cybersecurity seminar hosted by Cozen O’Connor, FBI assistant special agent Austin Berglas told attendees that most internal attacks happen through access obtained on the job that isn’t removed when the employee leaves. The seminar covered a variety of topics on privacy and data security including risk management issues, SEC guidance on disclosures, social media risks, and legislative and infrastructure updates.
