PHILADELPHIA, PA – Wednesday, December 5, 2012 - Cozen O’Connor, a top Am Law 100 U.S. law firm, is pleased to announce that Deborah Minkoff, a member in the firm’s Global Insurance Group, has been selected by Business Insurance for a 2012 Women to Watch award.
Business Insurance recognized 25 Women to Watch in print and online December 3, 2012, and celebrated and recognized their achievement at an awards luncheon Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in New York.
Business Insurance's Women to Watch award is an important honor in the industry. The magazine’s feature is an annual salute to business leaders and influential executives who are doing outstanding work in commercial insurance, risk management, employee benefits and related fields. Honorees were carefully selected by a team of senior editors, who closely considered various criteria, including recent professional achievements, influence on the marketplace and contributions to the advancement of women in business. Honorees are selected from nominations submitted by readers of Business Insurance.
“This is a well-deserved award,” said William Shelley, chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Global Insurance Group. “Deborah is the best of the best in complex liability coverage litigation, and works tirelessly on her clients’ behalf.”
Ms. Minkoff has been honored with numerous recognitions for her work in insurance litigation, including appearing in the past five yearly editions of The Best Lawyers in America.
Ms. Minkoff’s representative cases include disputes under claims-made liability coverages, professional liability coverage, primary and excess general liability coverage, and medical professional liability coverage. Her recent case load includes a significant number of sexual misconduct claims under both professional liability coverage and commercial liability coverage.
Ms. Minkoff is a frequent lecturer on self-insured retentions and large deductible policies, claims-made and reported coverage, negotiation skills and strategy, the rights of excess insurers, client counseling and risk tolerance, and effective legal writing.
“I am honored to receive this recognition,” Ms. Minkoff said. “It is exciting to be recognized by my peers, and always feels good to have hard work acknowledged.”
