Cozen O’Connor’s lawsuit, filed on behalf of 6,000 individual victims and insurance companies, for the losses that occurred due to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, is making headlines again. Two former senators, U.S. Senator Bob Graham (D-Fla.) and Senator Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.), have provided affidavits that a likely Saudi government agent, along with other Saudi officials, probably played a role during the lead-up to the attacks. The Saudi government was dismissed from the lawsuit in 2005, and these affidavits will figure prominently in a hearing in federal court in New York City, during which Cozen O’Connor will ask the court to reinstate Saudi Arabia as a defendant.
