April King will present “Stories of Business Transfers” at the Minnesota Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Association’s annual conference with respect to successful transfers of ownership and legacy. Participants will be invited to explore strategies for preparing the business, key personnel, future owners, and themselves for transfers by sale to arm’s-length buyers or employees, as well as sale or gift to family members, both inside and outside the business. The session will focus particularly on structures for transfers to employees as an often-overlooked option for small business owners seeking to preserve their company’s legacy and maintain its value within the community.
