On December 29, 2022, President Biden signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, containing the SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022 (SECURE 2.0). While some of SECURE 2.0’s provisions will not take effect for a couple years, there are changes taking immediate effect in early 2023 and SECURE 2.0 will require almost all employers to amend their employee benefit plans.
