State AG Group member, Milton Marquis, recently participated in a panel with other industry experts to share his experience and knowledge for the 2021 ABA Antitrust Virtual Spring Meeting: Collaboration Lessons From a Pandemic.

 

The panel was moderated by Jennifer Dixton – Assistant Chief, Special Counsel for Policy & Intellectual Property, Competition Policy & Advocacy Section, Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice

The other speakers were:  Saralisa C. Brau – Chief Counsel, Antitrust, McKesson Corporation; Mika Clark Tupy – Chief of Staff to the President, United Airlines; and Adrian Van Den Hoven – Director General, Medicines for Europe

 

Topics included:

COVID led to a number of high-profile competitor collaborations in pharmaceuticals and logistics. What antitrust lessons can we learn from how rivals and government reacted to a pandemic?

Was there enough enforcement guidance?

Was antitrust flexible enough?

Will the guidance impact how we assess joint ventures, information exchanges, immunities, and collaborations generally?
