Gina Maisto Smith, chair, and Leslie Gomez, vice chair, of Cozen O'Connor's Institutional Response Group, and Steven Healy, chief executive officer of Margolis Healy, will be speaking at this conference hosted by The University of Vermont. Gina, Leslie, and Steven will be presenting "Conducting a Self-Guided Risk Management Assessment: Applying Enterprise Risk Management to Federal Compliance." This session will help participants understand and apply an enterprise risk management approach to identifying and managing high-risk issues within an institution. Using a compliance framework, the presenters will outline how to identify risks, evaluate the sufficiency of controls, and implement a sustainable risk management approach. The presenters will discuss the importance of operational and control functions, annual audit and evaluation, and effective coordination and documentation practices. The presentation will use Title IX and Clery implementation as an example, but the principles identified can be applied to all areas of federal compliance.
Steven will also be presenting "Expert Panel 1 - Higher Education Basics" and "Guns on Campus."
