Erick Kirker, of Cozen O'Connor's Subrogation and Recovery department, will present a webinar titled, "Fireplace and Chimney Losses: Common Claims and Recovery Strategies" with Leo Herrmann, of Leo Herrmann Fireplace and Chimney Services, Inc. This presentation will begin with a detailed description of the anatomy and key components of a fireplace and chimney, including masonry and factory-built systems. The webinar will include explanations of several of the common problems with fireplaces and chimneys that result in building fires, including a discussion of relevant codes and standards. During the webinar, legal claims and strategies for recovery in fireplace and chimney fire cases will be discussed. In the end, the goal is to provide information about fireplace and chimneys, building fires related to them, and ways to obtain subrogation recoveries in these cases.
