About Shari

Shari Shapiro is the President of Calliope Communications LLC, a boutique policy research, government relations and communications consultancy. She focuses on the energy, environmental and construction industries, with a special expertise in building code policy. Shari has represented international companies, non-profits and trade associations in their state and local government affairs efforts, focusing on energy, environmental and building code policy. Shari has lead or contributed to many grant-funded research projects, including leading a study on energy efficiency policy for the Department of Energy and the Energy Efficient Buildings Hub. Shari is a Research Affiliate with the University of Pennsylvania Law School Program on Regulation and an adjunct professor in the Drexel University Public Policy Master's Degree program. Shari attended Brown University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude and with honors in International Development and History. She received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where received the Milton C. Sharp Award for Best Grades/Best Research in Urban Renewal or Land Use Planning. She also received a certificate in Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School of Business.
